My Students

On any given day you can find the students in my classroom working independently on mastering skills and at the table with me, learning new concepts. One of my goals is to make the students as independent as possible by giving them access to all the materials they need to succeed!

I work in a Title 1 elementary school in a rural area of South Carolina.

The population is approximately 98% African-American and almost all students qualify for free or reduced lunch. The students and families who attend the school are extremely close-knit, many of them related or close friends. So there is an amazingly supportive community who wants to see their children be successful!

My Project

Funding of these markers will help my students demonstrate their knowledge during teacher led activities as a part of small group instruction. It will also allow them to do independent work reducing the amount of other resources necessary (such as paper and printer/copier ink).

Funding of this project will improve my students' classroom experience because it will allow them to work independently and share what they know with teachers and other students.

It also allows for students to comfortably collaborate in a format that they enjoy.
