Help me give my students great books! I teach 8th grade and students often say “I hate reading.” I take this as a challenge that they have just not found their genre. Two of each builds buddy reading!
As an 8th grade English Language Arts teacher, I take it as a challenge when kids tell me they hate reading. I work to have a wide variety of books for them to borrow, so they can try out every genre. I also try to always have at least two of every book so kids can have a friend read with them; often having a reading buddy is a huge part of the draw to reading! Many kids just haven’t found what they love to read yet! Help me fill one more shelf in my room! Thank you!
