It is so difficult to focus in class and be successful when one is feeling cold. It is hard to stay focused when you are chilly especially when you have come from a much warmer climate and new to this country. Although they come in uniform pants and shirts, uniform sweatshirts are sometimes considered a luxury item and are not often included when back-to-school shopping.
Supplying our newcomer students with what they need will help them feel safe and warm while they are learning.
I am requesting gray sweatshirts for all of my students. I want my students who sometimes don't have appropriate clothes to wear when temperatures drop to have the clothing they need. I don't want my students to have to worry about warmth so that they can focus on learning!
