Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students live in a high poverty area of New York City. The class consists of general and special education students. They love to write, draw, and create. My students come from diverse cultures and economic backgrounds and don't always have access to the basic supplies they need. I want to create a learning environment that meets all of my students' needs.
We tend to take basic supplies for granted; it isn't until you no longer have access to those basic supplies that you realize how vital they are.
My Project
My students need cleaning wipes, paper towels, tissues, and hand sanitizer to help keep our classroom clean and help keep the students healthy throughout the school year. A student's environment has a big impact on their learning. A clean, organized room is one of the keys to success. The pride and self-confidence that this can build through having a clean room is invaluable.
