This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Imagine how much more fun PE can be when music is involved. Having a battery operated boombox/stereo will help motivate my students to be physical as they move and get their heart rates up outdoors. We need the ball rack to keep our PE supplies organized and clutter free in our classroom.
My students attend a low socioeconomic school.
90% of the students are on free and reduce lunch and are English Language Learners. They are a great group of students who are eager to learn and need PE in their weekly schedule to release their energy and keep their minds healthy!
My Project
My students are a great bunch, but PE becomes mundane when we do some of the same activities. I find that with a battery operated boombox, I can bring more energy through music and that will motivate the students as they work on physical activities outdoors. They will not only be laughing and having fun but their bodies will be active and this will keep their minds stimulated. With the foam balls we can do numerous activities from group juggling to partner twists and bends! The rack will allow me to keep the classroom clean in an orderly manner with all the PE supplies in one spot.
This project is important because nowadays with high test taking scores and pressures, the students need an outlet and need to remember to maintain their physical and mental health.
Through PE and music they can achieve this. A healthy child is a successful one!
