My Project

As a first-grade teacher, I strive every day to create a safe, inspiring, and positive learning environment for my students. Of the things my classroom lacks, from flexible seating to tools that allow for storage and organization, I have compiled a list of things that I think will make a great difference in our space.

For young learners (still developing routines and responsibilities) organization and comfortable seating is key to a successful and productive classroom.

Storage for students’ personal items, supplies and books is welcomed. Without individual cubbies, things can get messy, misplaced, or mixed up.

Plus, many of my students benefit from movement and alternative seating to stay on task and feel calm. Some have difficulty sitting still in standard chairs for long periods, which can lead to distractions or frustration. Others feel empowered and more responsible when they can make choices about their own learning space.

As much as I would love to provide everything for my students myself, I cannot. Therefore, I am appealing to you for your help in getting the items on the wish list. They will bring smiles, opportunities and a better learning experience for our little geniuses.
