My team could be describe as many things--crazy, loud, and plain-out over dramatic but in the end they are a great group of kids. They are experiencing programs that help them develop skills they didn't even know they had. At our high school, robotics is looked over for more "important" activities as you could call it.
Each student on this team has a common interest, yet they are all special.
They vary from artistic to technological to just the social aspect of the program. It is a safe place where they can not only share a common interest and goal, along with meeting people they will never forget.
This program lets kids show their talents that they do not receive credit for in this small, rural town, owned by sports more than anything else. They are great students that have found a great place and way to display their talents.
My Project
This project is to help my students get new, improved equipment, specifically motors and servos, for the upcoming robotics season.
Every year we have to rebuild our robot due to changes in the design of the game, and we thus need new parts to match.
Most of our equipment is well used from last year's competition. This especially applies to the motors and servos that we rely on to make the robot go.
Our school does not fund us in any way. Thus we receive all of our money through fundraisers, grants, and a precious few sponsors. We rely greatly on the kindness of people like you that are willing to help fund our team.
