My Students
My students are the youngest in our school building, full of energy and hilarious takes on what's going on around them. It's our sixth grade team's job to focus all of the craziness that is being in the sixth grade to help prepare our students for life in middle and high school and beyond. My students represent a wider picture of the city. They come from elementary schools all over the city and bring with them different and shared experiences to make our community stronger.
My students are creative, innovative, and excited to make an impact on the world.
While in my social studies classroom, they get to engage in real world scenarios, geography skills, history lessons, and so much more to gain a broader context for the world they're growing up in.
My Project
These supplies will help keep my classroom replenished, while also keeping it moving for the rest of the year. There are so many necessities that we sometimes do without, just because there isn't enough time in the day for me to take inventory until it's too late. With this opportunity to get out in front of my supply needs, we won't have to worry about going without anything in the future.
I'm not only asking for supplies, but also classroom furniture, materials, magazines and curriculum for the many levels my students fit into.
I'm excited to use the magazines for my more advanced students, to keep them engaged in meaningful work in case they finish class activities early. The wobble cushions will be great for my students with energetic bodies who struggle to stay seated for the whole 70 minute class period.
