Help me give my students the clean classroom they deserve! I am asking for Lysol disinfecting wipes and a broom and dustpan set to keep my classroom a safe and sanitized place to learn.

it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
In deep East Oakland live the most brilliant, powerful, and resilient students and I have the honor of teaching them. My 8th graders are the reason for my personal growth and strength. They are fierce warriors who believe in social justice and strive to use their voices to speak for themselves and others. They are filled with so much love for themselves and their community and have a strong desire to explore and understand the world around them. My students are faced with numerous challenges at home and in their community. I admire their strength and courage to face all adversity and still make it to school.
As their English Language Arts teacher, I watch my students progress as avid readers and strong communicators each and every day.
They stand together as a class to discuss social issues that impact their community and they take great pride in their town. Most of my students have been exposed to gang and gun violence and family trauma, yet their resilience is extraordinary. I have so much to learn from these amazing young adults.
My Project
In one week, my 8th graders will be returning to in-person instruction after more than a year of online learning. One of my biggest priorities is to keep my 8th grade English classroom clean and sanitized when students re-enter.
My 8th graders deserve to learn in a sanitized and healthy environment.
Currently, the 8th grade hallway shares a broom set that has been brought in by a fellow teacher. Our wipes supplied to us by the district are thin and do not last very long. My students (who opted in to in-person learning at the end of last year) have been so wonderful with helping our class wipe down our class set of Chromebooks and their desks. I want to ensure that families feel safe about sending their children to learn in my classroom.
