I am seeking funding to purchase four Pyle Jam Wooden Cajon Stringed Percussion Box Drums to enhance rhythmic reading and performance skills for K-3 scholars. These drums will make learning music both fun and impactful, helping scholars grasp simple rhythmic patterns in an engaging, hands-on way.
Many of my students struggle to connect music theory concepts to practical applications.
While we teach basic rhythms, clapping and verbal exercises alone don’t always engage young learners. Physical instruments like the Cajon box drum allow students to feel the rhythm in their hands and bodies, creating a powerful learning experience.
With four Pyle Jam Wooden Cajon Stringed Percussion Box Drums, I can divide scholars into small groups, making it easier for each child to participate. The cajon is compact, durable, and perfect for young learners. These instruments will enable students to practice simple rhythmic patterns via hands-on drumming; improve coordination and fine motor skills; build confidence through collaborative group performances and cultivate a lifelong love of music.
By donating to this project, you’ll equip our music room with four versatile and high-quality cajon box drums. This initial set will allow my K-3 students to start exploring rhythms in an exciting, hands-on way. As we build momentum, I hope to expand this program by adding more instruments in the future so every student can fully participate.
These scholars are special because they come from diverse languages and cultural backgrounds and enrich the classroom with their unique perspectives. Music provides a universal language that helps these students build confidence, express themselves, and develop essential communication skills. It fosters inclusion and creates a safe space where all students can connect and thrive, regardless of language barriers. Through music, they gain skills that extend beyond the classroom, preparing them for future success.
