In an age of continuous cuts to school funding, the first programs and budgets that suffer are ones for the arts. If we want to raise well-rounded, intelligent thinkers, we must preserve arts education!
I teach twenty wonderful students in an all-day Kindergarten classroom in a high-need community.
They are a beautiful, multi-cultural group with differing abilities. My classroom is hands- and brains-on, and we love to learn from one another and through music.
We love to sing and dance. My goal is to inspire my students to believe in themselves and become lifelong learners. They have made my life brighter, and I would like to brighten theirs in return!
My Project
I am requesting a computer program with a digital keyboard because I want to inspire the next Mozart! I believe the arts are vital for a quality education. I want to provide my students with a holistic education in order to inspire creative and intelligent thinkers! My students would have the opportunity to use this computer program at the computer center each day and learn to play the piano. Playing the piano in Kindergarten may not only feed their musical intelligence, but it may also inspire them to pursue music in the future!
In Ohio, school budgets are continuously suffering cuts from the state.
As a result, we are no longer able to purchase additional resources for the classroom. As teachers, we spend thousands of dollars a year on materials. Your help would be such a blessing! My students are wonderful and very deserving!
