Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The main challenge my students face is not having enough of anything. My students live in a low-income area, with little to no education support. It is my job to make school and their education as rich and motivating as possible.
I love my class!
My class is the best! I have 21 ELL students, who are polite, well mannered, hard working and delightful! Each student is wonderful in his/her own way. They attend a public school in a low-income community. There is little/no parent support, which makes it a little difficult to have at-home support. My students are everything to me! That's why it is so important that my classroom is where they want to spend their time at learning!
My Project
Each year, I teach a thematic unit on penguins. The students love it but our problem is lack of resources. I would love to have texts and materials so students can learn about penguins easier. The materials we have now include copies, and very few text. It would be so much better for students to have actual pictures of penguins, as well as information at their fingertips which would be easy to read.
This project is so important because students truly love this unit and I can only imagine how wonderful it would be to have to necessary resources at their fingertips to enhance this unit!
