My students need a class pack of liquid watercolor paint, 3 sets of liquid watercolors, paint bellows, and 2 sizes of black mat frames for displaying their artworks.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am the only art teacher in my K-8 this New York public school building. I serve over 500 students each year. Supplies were not provided by our school for the past 4 years and it's not looking good for next year either. My school serves a low-income population..
My students LOVE to paint!
They are bright, creative and enthusiastic about painting.
The problem? We are running on empty! Basic colors seem to run out fast and my students are getting frustrated at the grim lack of basic paint colors in our art room.
My Project
Liquid watercolors would be a great medium for my students to explore through creative problem solving in the art room. We do a lot of wax resist paintings to learn about famous artists, elements and principles of art and color theory. It's an easy way to fill large areas in one swoop and experiment with wet brush techniques.
We would also love some mat frames for proudly displaying our finished art work.
Please help bring the color back into our watercolor lessons!
I would love to provide my students with new materials and give them confidence and pride in their artwork. We are so excited to get working! Thank you for your support.
