My Project
This year my students and I are reinventing the music classes. I am from grade 5 math and they are from kindergarten - grade 5.
We have a brand new music curriculum and 30-year-old supplies.
The students and I have come alive with enthusiasm enjoying the lessons and activities as best we can, making do. These children deserve to have these real tangible instruments. I have exhausted my school money, as well as my own, meeting classroom needs.
These items will step up the yearly performances as each student will have these instruments making our own music. Our Christmas performance was wonderful with the children’s excitement but, what a difference these items would have made.
There is not enough money to help my singing. I am their example of why they need to learn. I use my experiences to open their minds, ears, eyes, and movements to music. Having bells with pitches and bucket drums for rhythms in the future is an inspiring score.
