Teaching in a low-income, high-needs school definitely has its challenges. However, when your 6th graders are the most amazing group of kids ever, it makes these challenges a little easier.
No matter what these students face, the perseverance they show is inspiring.
I may not be able to change some of the things that happen in their lives, but, I CAN make their learning experience just a little easier. These balance ball chairs will help give them the opportunity to focus that each of them deserve.
My Project
Tik tok, tik tok..... when will it be recess? I. Need. To. MOVE! Wait, what did the teacher just say? I don't know what I'm doing. I give up. Tik tok, tik tok.....
Kids are not meant to sit still for hours on end.
They need movement. These balance ball chairs will not only be enabling my students to move, but it will give them the opportunity to learn. Their focus will shift from the clock to the learning activity they desperately want to be engaging in.
All kids deserve the same opportunity to learn. These chairs would give them that opportunity.
