Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students need your help! I teach in a title one school where more than half of my students come from low income households. Many of my students are immigrants who speak many different languages, including Spanish, Portuguese, Swahili, Punjabi, and Farsi. Because of the language barrier, the way in which I teach my students needs to be extremely diverse and include many different tools and methods. This includes computers! Currently, my classroom has one working computer!

Any donation, no matter how small, will change the way in which my students learn!

My students are amazingly resilient and hard working! They come to this country and to my school not knowing any English. As English Language Learners, computers are a vital and necessary tool in the classroom. Many of my students do not have access to computers or any technology at home. Therefore, it is important to be able to use working computers in the classroom. They will be so excited to have them in our classroom on a daily basis!

My Project

Currently, my students have access to only one working computer in the classroom. In order to use computers, we are constantly borrowing from others. This proves to be difficult, as there aren't enough to go around. We need computers so that my students can access language translators, reading programs, and research current topics.

These chrome books will allow my students to consistently have access to programs like Raz Kids, Epic, and Lexia.

The computers will also help to decrease the language barrier that I currently have with many of my students. My students speak many languages and are just beginning to learn English. Your donation will help my students to learn English. So please help my students achieve success!
