I spent the entire summer reworking our reading curriculum. We had teachers following scripts and reading boring assigned readers. I have planned themes for each week of the year and books for each of those themes. I posted a project before for some of the books we needed and when that was funded I decided to take a shot for some more of the books on our list.
So far this year the kids have only watched these stories being read aloud on YouTube.
I created a bulletin board for all the books we will read over the year. I print out pictures of the book covers for each week and add them to the board on Fridays. My kids are so excited to get a sneak peak of the books we will be reading. These books are going to allow our teachers to have these books physically on display and stop for teachable moments while reading.
