As a special education Pre-K teacher, there is nothing I love more than creating a safe space for my students to explore, learn and grow in. Many of my students come from different types of homes and facilitating a warm classroom, where they can feel welcome is so important to me. I am hoping a new rug with a bookshelf and a cozy faux fireplace will create a sense of comfort in my classroom.
With this project, I hope to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere for my students where they can feel free to manipulate materials and access their classroom independently.
Creating open ended play scenarios with the loose parts set in the Tuff tray, children can be the navigator of their own play. Independent exploration is so important that this age. In Pre-K we are building upon overall resilience, emotional empathy, exploration and most importantly FUN!
