This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students come from a Title I school where most homes are below the poverty line and cannot afford books. My project has leveled readers to help them read (no matter their reading level), book cases for students to travel back and forth to school with their reading materials, and chair pockets to help them stay organized at their desks. Reading and writing are connected in fundamental ways - one is required to improve the other. My project will also supply my students with additional materials to help them write such as flashcards to improve their vocabulary, as well as the essential writing tools to help them be successful (markers, whiteboards, and crayons).
