This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our school community is excited to launch our first PBIS rewards store for all our students. PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Support) is an evidenced based program that fosters and rewards positive student behavior. Using the PBIS framework, a school wide system of expectations and rewards is implemented that nurtures the whole child and teaches them valuable skills not only in, but also beyond the classroom.
This program aims to recognize and celebrate students positive choices, hard work, and achievements made by our students.
Students are awarded points for positive behavior, achievements, and hard work. Each week the students will be able to shop in the school rewards store using their points for items of interest or save them for higher point items/rewards. These items can include, but are not limited to fidgets, various age appropriate toys, trading cards, pencils, games, snacks, etc.
