My students need a camcorder, camera kit and one LCD TV to start a news broadcast.

My Students

My students need to practice their writing skills. Our scores were not as high as they could of been on our assessment test. This is the second year in a row our school has had disappointing scores on our assessment tests.

This year we need to start getting creative.

I would like my students to write their own news stories, record them swap with the other classes and watch them. My 5th grade students would like to start a news broadcast for the school. We would utilize technology to communicate daily information to the school’s staff and students.

My Project

The broadcast would include regular features such as the lunch menu, birthdays, weather, and a joke of the day. It would also include special features such as a weekly vocabulary quiz contest, the Science question, and occasional guest appearances by our Principal or, Guidance Counselor.

Students would be our crew working both in front of the cameras and behind the scenes.

They would learn filming and public speaking skills. I would oversee the daily responsibility of producing a live broadcast that helps serve the needs of the staff and students. Our first broadcast will highlight your extreme generosity. Please help our 5th graders become real reporters!!
