Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Help me give my students the gift of creating art. My school is a Title 1 school with 95 percent of my students on free lunch. We also serve low-income housing.
My students have no resources at home for art and love coming to the art room to explore new materials.
Many of my kids look forward to the one day of the week they have art and will come to school no matter what on that day just to enjoy art. We need pencils, markers and more.
In a post-pandemic world, where so much emphasis is on academics and testing, art gives my students room to breathe, create, and have fun.
