Help! Fun and Engaging Resources For Speech Therapy Needed!
Help me give my students motivating and engaging materials that target a variety of speech and language goals, including identifying story elements, main idea, inferencing, and describing.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a speech language pathologist at my school. Many of the families are of a lower socioeconomic status and a majority of the parents of my students are Spanish speaking. My students all have speech and language difficulties, as well as being English language learners. Despite their challenges, my students are always eager and enthusiastic about learning!
My Project
My students are currently receiving remote speech and language therapy due to school closures. Although I try to make speech sessions as fun and engaging as possible, it takes a great deal of time to prepare interactive online activities, and the activities often get repetitive. By providing me with a gift card to teachers pay teachers, I will be able to purchase ready- made interactive activities that target a variety of speech and language skills, including but not limited to story elements, main idea, sequencing, describing, and story companions. It will save me time with lesson planning and make learning more fun for the students!
