Help me give my students resources to have a class election such as poster board and pens, book about the election, TPT gift card to print election resources.
I teach fourth grade at a Title I school located in Central Florida. 98% of students at my school are eligible for free/reduced price lunches. I teach math and science to a total of 48 students. Our students come from a variety of social, behavioral, and emotional backgrounds.
I want my students to learn the importance of the voting process through the utilization of a classroom election.
My students are eager to learn. This project will provide an engaging way for them to learn about civics in the classroom.
My Project
This project will provide materials for my fourth graders to hold a class election from beginning to end and learn about the voting process. My students will get the opportunity to participate in a class election with these amazing resources.
Participating in an election will be an exciting learning opportunity in which my students will decide who will represent them in class and assist in making important decisions.
The poster board, pens, TPT Gift Card and children's book will be used to help my students take part in a valuable learning opportunity, a class election. Students will participate in a mock election to elect a class representative
Through this process, and the children's book, they will gain an understanding of how elections work and will also understand the importance of participating in elections. They will make their own posters with the poster board and pens and give their speeches in front of the class.
