Help for Language Learners!

My students need these listening materials two 8-Station Junction Boxes and 3 CD/cassette players, to help them improve their reading skills.....especially, my language learners!

My Students

My language learners need EXTRA help! They really benefit when they can see, feel, and also HEAR the story. I am requesting a CD player, 2 cassette players, and 2 junction boxes for headphones. They can read and hear the weekly story for a few days before moving on to independent reading.

I have a classroom of 24 students.

They are various cultures and races. They attend a suburban school. They are all wonderful with special gifts! I love them. I want ALL of them to succeed! I have an extra challenge with my ESL students. They need extra help in reading.

My Project

This project will benefit ALL of my students....who doesn't like to have a story read to them with great background music and fun, exciting sounds to enhance the action! But, my main motivation is to help my little ESL students. I have found that they depend on hearing the words while they are watching the words to really improve in reading. My current recorders are broken. I do not have the money personally to purchase these materials and the money I get from the Legislature will not begin to cover the cost. I know that this project will help benefit the reading success of all my students...most especially my language learners!

As a teacher, you want the very best for your students.

You want all of them to make huge progress in the year you have them. It is a challenge when they have special needs. My little language learners are always a big worry for me. How do I reach them? How can they make greater gains? It is an extra challenge when you know that their parents are not reading with them in English at home....not because they won't...but because they can't. Please help me make a difference for them! Thanks!
