This year, I was offered the opportunity to be departmentalized. I will teach between 45-50 students Reading, Writing, & English Language Arts. My students come from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, and experiences. Currently, over 70% of my students are English Language Learners. It is imperative that they have the supplies that are needed to be successful.
My students are a mixture of fun, shy, and outgoing!
They are all eager to learn. They are adjusting to school quickly, along with procedures and routines. My goal is to keep that love for learning growing by "fertilizing" and "watering" their current love for knowledge.
The requested items will help my students continue to grow in the direction that is needed for organization and continued success in the years to come. I requested chair bags to help students with organization and to help with movement in the classroom. Due to having a smaller room this year, the walking space is limited. Chair bags will allow each student to have exactly what is needed without much transitioning. The requested book bins will help with organization with their assigned books Writing is a skill that many students fear. One of my goals is to eliminate that fear by daily writing, therefore I am requesting composition books, pencils, and crayons. These tools will be used everyday to write and draw about various topics. Last, but not least, our class is in need of printer ink. Working in a large school, our printers run out of ink quickly. it is important for me to provide information in a various forms such as email, text, and hard copy. This ink will be utilized to help send information home for my students and parents, in their native languages.
