My Project
I am a high school Spanish teacher. I teach both upper and lower level Spanish classes. We have a large lower income population at our school that is receiving free or reduced-price breakfasts and lunches. Some come to me looking for something to eat when they are hungry. Some find out about me and, though they're not my students, they ask for food. Some come quietly and reluctantly. While I've provided them with food in the past, I have run out from time to time and had to turn kids away. Kids are able to pay better attention when they're not hungry.
I was blessed with donations at the beginning of the summer, but I just ran out this week and we still have a quarter and a half to go.
Any snacks left over at the end of the year will be saved for students for next year.
