My Project

Starting next school year, cell phones will no longer be allowed during the school day at Mattoon High School — and while this change supports focus and discipline, it presents a challenge for one important group: our Yearbook staff.

These hardworking students are passionate about telling the story of MHS through powerful photography, capturing everything from spirit weeks and sporting events to classroom moments and graduation day.

But with phones out of the picture, they’ll need professional cameras to do what they do best.

That’s where you come in.

We’re asking for your help to purchase the Canon EOS Rebel T7 DSLR Camera | 2 Lens Kit, which includes: EF 18-55mm and EF 75-300mm lenses.

Why does this matter? Our yearbook staff is made up of creative, dedicated students who work year-round to build The Riddle, our school’s yearbook. With a team of 12 and only 3 cameras available, we need more equipment to give every student hands-on opportunities.These cameras will replace smartphones and give students experience using professional-grade gear — a huge skill booster for future college or career goals.

How can you help us get more cameras for our program?
