This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

How will your students use these resources? Why are you requesting any other materials that haven’t been previously mentioned?

Most of the students at my Title 1 Inner-City School have never had the Visual Arts as a dedicated class before.

They are eager to explore the wide variety of creative outlets that an arts class can give them. I am eager to give them a new method of creating art that many of them have not considered as an option - a digital design lab. This will help them create a variety of pieces while utilizing their district-provided Chromebooks - giving them a chance to create with new techniques and methods, while reducing the need for perishable materials like paper and other art supplies that will need to be replaced more regularly.

I'm requesting the start of a classroom set of Wacom Drawing Tablets that can be connected to their Chromebooks through a USB port and allow them greater control and fluidity when drawing digitally. They will be able to use these to create a number of pieces throughout the year and grow in skill and technique while reducing overall waste and integrating technology into the Fine Arts Classroom!
