This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I’m working to create a Calm Corner in my classroom—a quiet, welcoming space where students can take a moment to regulate their emotions and return to learning with a clearer mind and calmer heart. This space will include sensory tools, calming visuals, soft seating, and books that help children process their feelings.

This project will make a real difference in my students’ learning by helping them develop essential self-regulation skills.

When students are better able to manage their emotions, they’re more focused, more confident, and more engaged in the classroom.

My goal is to support not only academic growth, but also emotional wellness. I want every child to know it’s okay to take a break, ask for help, and care for themselves and others.

What makes my students special is their resilience. Many face challenges beyond the classroom that they have no control over, yet they show up every day eager to learn and grow. With your help, I can give them the tools and space they need to thrive—inside and out.
