Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
What I love about my students is that they are each different and have a story to tell. They come from an low income urban area. Many are second generation immigrants who often struggle to assimilate into the American culture. I have created this project in response to a unit I created for my Humanities course. It is titled the Power of Story Telling.
I want to teach this memoir and use it as a way for my students to relate and tell their story.
I will use this as a healing literacy strategy in which they can share their story and make connections to this memoir. I would love to incorporate this novel for this generation of students. I am counting on your support!
