My Project

Many of my middle school students dream of learning to play piano, but they’ve never had the chance. In a high-poverty rural district with very limited resources, there are few creative outlets for our kids. This project will provide electric piano keyboards so students, regardless of ability or background, can experience the joy of making music.

Our school has many students who don’t feel successful in traditional academics or on the sports field.

These students often crave a place where they can feel confident, express themselves, and be proud of their progress. Music, especially learning to play the piano, can be that space.

Electric keyboards with headphones will let students practice without fear or distraction. They’ll be able to work independently, learn at their own pace, and build real skills. As they gain confidence, they’ll have opportunities to perform with others, create their own music, and share their talents at school events and concerts.

Playing piano builds fine motor skills, reading fluency, math reasoning, and emotional self-regulation. It activates all parts of the brain, helping students stay focused, engaged, and proud of what they’re learning. Most of all, it gives them a voice.

These instruments will help us create a space where kids can thrive creatively, collaborate with others, and discover hidden strengths they never knew they had.

We need three electric piano keyboards with headphones, power supplies and stands and beginner learning books and resources.

This project will provide any student an opportunity to try piano, not just the few who can afford lessons or instruments at home. It will give students a chance to build self-esteem, work as a team, and experience accomplishment and success. With your support, we can bring music and hope to a generation of young musicians.
