My project needs 4 book for our music literacy library.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Crull's classroom raised $100
This project is fully funded
Our music classroom is an incredibly positive, welcoming, and creative place where all students are set up for successful learning and play.
I teach 380 kindergarten to 5th grade students in a richly diverse and highly multi-ethnic elementary school. Our school is a Title One School where 80% of our students qualify for free and reduced lunch. By becoming a PLC (Professional Learning Community), our school has made achievements in student learning. We are in a high need community with a large special education population.
Music is the perfect place to connect art, music, literacy, social studies, and science, to name a few. My students love reading and singing along to Children's Books. We have a small library which I have built from my own personal collection. Songs like "Old McDonald" and "Down by the Bay" are favorites in our classroom! I would love to bring in new songs and listening lessons through these books.
We have an upcoming Jazz unit -- these picture books set to music will be the perfect way to introduce musical concepts to kindergarten students through fifth graders.
The other books teach social skills about accepting all people and respecting our differences. The "Can You Hear it" book pairs famous works of art with CD listening lessons for students to work on critical listening skills and the analysis of music.
Your support will help spark interest in all kinds of music in my students and expose them to reading in a fun and creative way!
