This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students absolutely love to learn. We have already been inspired to learn about other cultures and give to others who have less. Given the background my students have, this is an amazing feat.
My students come from poverty themselves and often have worries no child should have.
These outside worries can carry over into class and make it difficult to focus. I want to provide my students with the best environment possible so they can be well rounded citizens.
My Project
These STEAM activities and nonfiction books will heavily enrich my classroom library. My classroom library is a place that my students really enjoy. They are able to pick out books that interest them for enjoyed reading. However, the nonfiction section of my classroom library is minimum. Therefore, my goal for this project is to be able to provide more nonfiction texts to my students. With your donations, students will be able to choose nonfiction books of interest for independent reading time in class.
STEAM practice allows students to problem solve, think analytically, and to be imaginative.
STEAM gives my students the opportunity to blossom into the creative thinkers they are. It is essential that I expose my students to STEAM and STEAM-building materials in order to prepare them with the necessary skills to be a citizen in today's modern world.
