Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have selected one copy of each box set for the incredibly popular Manga series, Dragonball Z and Assassination Classroom! The anime books I do have in class not only fly off the shelves, and they have waiting lists! If these resources somehow make themselves to my classroom, it will bring a true, real smile to the faces of my students. I know, because I have have experienced it, that students will be lining up to sign out that new book they have heard all about. As I have seen first hand, this reading material is tremendously valuable, especially to English Language Learners. Many of my students are ELL students, with primarily Spanish being spoken at home. This reading material will help build their literacy ability, which also makes them much more capable to understand required school reading. As an educator, there is nothing greater than providing a student with a learning opportunity that they want to experience for themselves.
