This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am blessed to be working as our school's full-time Mindfulness and Meditation teacher for all grades K-5. My school is full of diverse learners who live in NYC. I am grateful for my students and appreciate their love of learning and of life. My goal is to create a positive impact and help my students develop social-emotional learning skills and healing strategies in order to thrive in our complex world today!
During our time together my students learn and practice strategies that help develop self-regulation, build confidence, heal from the inside out, work as a team, and establish inner peace and joy.
I have a strong passion for working with children and believe mindfulness and meditation are extremely beneficial to help every child establish healthy habits at a young age. My approach to teaching is based on mindfulness, self-regulation, and cultivating inner peace.
My Project
The materials requested will be used to help engage all students in the learning process of mindfulness. I will be using the rainstick as a way to better understand our senses, meditation, and to get students attention in a mindful way. The breathing balls will help students visualize their breath as they inhale and exhale.
It is my passion to help my students become more self-aware, and heal from the inside out by becoming more aware of their body and sensations within.
By offering props to help them learn, my students will naturally become more engaged and curious.
