Help Bring Colors To Our Graphs And Rovers To STEAM!

Help me give my students new graphing calculators to bring color to their graphs and art to their math. We hope to implement the calculators with TI Rovers to help build our STEAM program.

My Students

We are the few, we are the proud, we are the Pirates. Our Math Lab touches every student's life as they step into LES which serves approximately 160 students. We come from a small Jersey shore town that was hit hard by Hurricane Sandy and after six years our town is almost completely restored.

Currently, we serve students from five different towns surrounding the Jersey Shore area and our technology is aging which demands more resources.

Students come from a variety of economic backgrounds. The past year during the Hour of Code, students presented various projects in three different programming languages to industry professionals. Our community involvement in protecting Barnegat Bay has also gained recognition from our County's Pumpout Boat Program and top political officials. There are also a number of teams and after school recreational programs for all student interests.

My Project

These materials will play a pivotal role in enhancing the learning experience and put technology in the hands of our students. Currently, we have a shortage of graphing calculators and we could benefit from a much needed upgrade. These calculators also would enable us to commit further resources for TI Rovers and enrich coding for our students. With Hour of Code around the bend we are excited about the opportunity to be part of a bigger movement to improve the world through code and student creativity. The materials purchased will help generations of students in innovative coding, mathematics, and dynamic learning opportunities.
