My Project
One of the biggest hurdles as an AP teacher in an inner city is finding the funds to give my students the same access their peers at the surrounding suburbs have to literature. All students in AP classes are required to have hard copies of the texts we are reading. This is extremely challenging when one has to use whatever decades old copies of texts happen to be in a storage closet.
My students need access to interesting, relevant, AP level literature in order to be successful in the class and on the AP Exam, which allows them to earn college credit.
With the help of your generous donation, we will not have to simply "make do." My students can have access to the same level of curriculum their peers outside of the inner city have access to. This will allow them to be more competitive when applying for colleges and scholarships since they will be more prepared for the AP Exam. Earning college credit while in high school and securing scholarships makes a college education all the more attainable for my students.
