Help BMS Get a New Paper Cutter!

Help me give my students a new paper cutter that is not 20 plus years old and dangerous. I haven’t been able to afford this for years but desperately need it.

My Students

BMS is in the country surrounded by lakes and beautiful forested land. My classes are bursting to full capacity because I’m the only art teacher on my campus when we need two. I let more kids into my classes than I have seats for sometimes because I don’t want to deny these kids that art is their world and only extracurricular activity. I have some extremely talented art students that really love art! Many of my students are creative in the way they dress and wear their art on them. I love seeing their individuality and expression and guiding them in healthy ways to show this. My students are my ‘children’ and I watch over them like a mother hen. For this reason, I’m asking for a new paper cutter since the one I have is the one that was there when I first came to BMS. It’s rather dangerous to work with and not sharp anymore and sometimes my 8th graders use it to cut their projects and I live in fear of them injuring themselves with it. Help me protect them.

My Project

Students will use this heavy duty trimmer hands-on when cutting paper and materials for projects they are creating in my art 8th grade class. It will be much safer than what we have been getting by with. I will use it in preparation for 7th grade art basics classes as we start new projects. This will help with my time management as this will go much faster with a new paper cutter. Safety in art is part of learning how to create art and is taught in my class. Thanks for your help!
