My Project
Bilingual students are a valuable and growing part of our school communities. They bring unique perspectives and talents but often face challenges as they learn in a language different from their home language. One of the most effective ways to support bilingual learners is through structured small group work—especially when they have access to desks that support focused, collaborative learning.
Small group settings allow bilingual students to engage more fully in discussions, ask questions comfortably, and practice new language skills in a supportive environment.
In large classroom settings, these students may feel overwhelmed or hesitant to speak up. In smaller groups, they build confidence, receive personalized attention, and learn both language and content more effectively through interaction with peers and teachers.
Having desks for small groups is crucial to this success. Desks provide students with personal space to stay organized, write clearly, and focus without distraction. A well-arranged classroom with enough desks allows teachers to form flexible, functional groups where students feel safe and included. For bilingual students, this physical structure creates the foundation for meaningful engagement and deeper learning.
Unfortunately, many classrooms lack the resources to provide enough desks or properly support small group instruction. Without the right tools and space, bilingual students miss out on these critical learning opportunities.
Your donation can make a direct impact. By funding desks for small group work, you are giving bilingual students the chance to succeed—not just in school, but in life. You’re helping create an environment where every student feels valued, supported, and ready to learn.
Together, we can remove barriers and open doors. One desk. One group. One student at a time.
