We are working to build our music program back up after the pandemic greatly reduced the number of students we have in jazz and choir. One of the areas we hope to improve is the sound quality during music concerts. Our music ensembles are full of amazing students, but it is often hard to hear them during performances due to a lack of stage microphones and stands.
Our single working microphone connects to an XLR cable and it doesn't pick up our choir singers voices or our jazz band soloists.
When jazz students solo, the director has to lean over with the wired mic to try and amplify their sound over the band. This frequently causes the student to be blocked from the view of their parents and sometimes the solo is still not able to be heard. Choir students have also had a hard time singing over the piano during concerts due to the small number of students in the group. Stage microphones and stands will allow jazz students to perform solos that are heard and seen clearly by the audience, and allow choir students to project over the piano accompaniment.
