My Project

This is my first year teaching and I am working with wonderful 8th grade students who adore reading fiction that is diverse, recent, relatable, and relevant to their lives! My students love reading books written for and about adolescents their age going through real events like they go through themselves.

We want to fill our classroom library with honest, thoughtful, and diverse portrayals of the ups and downs of adolescence.

My students can't wait to try reading different, new books and discuss them in literature circles! Their love for reading is contagious and heart-warming, I can't wait to give them more opportunities to engage with relevant, fun texts!
