Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Which paper? My folder is broken! I can barely read this!
These are all things I hear every day in my classroom!
Our school is small and has a large percentage of students who get free or reduced lunch.
Most students cannot afford to bring any of their own supplies, but they are always ready to learn. My second graders love to show their independence and take care of their own paperwork.
My Project
My students keep themselves organized by each having a homework folder and a classwork folder. These folders are heavy duty, but the sliding in and out of backpacks and desks wears them out. As the folders fall apart, I tape them back together. This tape only lasts so long, new folders will give them the chance to continue to be organized without having to worry about them falling apart.
The students also use different colors of paper to know which assignments are for which subject. New pink paper will help me send home notices on a different color than homework!
With the ink, I will be able to replace the cartridge that is running out and printing poorly in our classroom. Then, the students will be able to read their paperwork!
