My Project
My students are wonderful fun-loving first graders who love books. They cannot wait to be able to read by themselves.
These decodable readers will help them build the skills they need to read independently and will help them build on those skills to grow into successful readers.
I will use them in small groups to teach sounds explicitly so that students will be able to build the foundations students need. The books will provide needed practice in both the skills and comprehension through interesting stories. Students will become more proficient as a result.
