Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach a caring, wonderful group of 20 students who are working arduously on a daily basis to adapt and be flexible during these often challenging times of all virtual distance learning! Of my twenty students, eight are English Learners, ranging from one being Newcomer English Learner to seven students who are now considered Long Term English Learners, having been in the EL program for five years or over. Three of my students receive RSP Resource Specialist Services support for English Language Developing and math skills. My students are predominantly of latino background!
My Project
Help my students get focused while distant learning by providing them with noise canceling microphones to reduce surrounding home noises that can distract them.
Headphones will help keep all my fabulous fifth grade scholars on task and encourage them to follow class discussions as they interact with peers, especially during remote learning.
Providing headphones to my students will play a pivotal role in my lesson plans because I could help minimize noise distractions and redirect their attention to the daily virtual lessons presented. In turn, having the headphones will increase their chances of acquiring knowledge and increasing their academic skills needed to succeed this school year!
