Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have taught young scholars for many years and unfortunately, I do not have the appropriate desks. I currently use regular desks at the lowest adjustable level, which does not provide an optimal environment for student interaction and learning. The current desks make it incredibly difficult for students to interact with each other due to their size and height. They also make sharing difficult because they are too wide for them to be able to reach for their learning activities which are placed in the middle of the tables for inclusive access.

I would love for students to have tables that are age appropriate that help students to share and be comfortable while seated and working.

New desks would greatly impact students' comfort while working at their tables. It would increase social interaction during learning centers and improve our safety in the classroom. Many times, students are unsafely reaching over the current tables to reach for manipulatives or learning materials.
