Chemistry is all about experimentation and "seeing" is one step closer to understanding.
Our students are high school Chemistry and Advanced Chemistry students that are eager to learn.
They like to perform as many experiments as possible to gather data and analyze that data to formulate conclusions. Our High School is located in a farming community that is about an hour from the city.
My Project
The equipment we are requesting are 3 hot plates that will allow us to do various experimental processes. Chemistry involves many reactions that require heat and the hot plates provide a safe heating environment without open flames for the students to perform these processes. Some experimental processes will be phase change, reaction rate detection, Kinetics of a reaction, Specific Heat reactions, and various organic chemistry reactions.
These pieces of equipment will enable our Chemistry students to perform labs that we are currently unable to do due to the lack of equipment.
They will be able to advance in their understanding of chemistry inorganic and organic concepts.
