My Students
Over 28 languages are spoken at my school, and most of the students in my classroom are English Language Learners. Being able to hear while listening to books on tape, reading books with the Tag Reader, and using the computer, is crucial for my students.
Hailing from over 5 continents, my students are diverse in their backgrounds and talented in so many different ways.
As a teacher of students who are learning English, and learning how to read, it is important for me to provide opportunities for them to enjoy literacy in a low pressure way. By listening to stories, working with websites that have audio, and using the Tag Reader, my students will be able to engage with books and understand the content!
My Project
My class currently has one Tag Reader and it is so popular that I have to replace the batteries every week! I would love to expand this learning activity to more students by adding activities and updating the headphones.
At our listening center I currently have two headphones; with the addition of more headphones, more students can listen to our collection of books on tape. My class has just received two netbook computers, and the students would love to have headphones to better utilize the netbooks.
My students are smart, talented, and eager to learn more.
With your generosity they will continue to be able to enjoy reading, and will be able to hear the stories and learning opportunities that are presented to them.
