This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Seeing is believing, but so is hearing! My students all read below grade level, and nothing improves their comprehension like hearing the textbook read aloud while they read along.

All of my students have mild to moderate disabilities and work incredibly hard to overcome their challenges.

Life is never easy for teenagers in high school, but my students have a unique set of obstacles to conquer. More than anything, they want to be able to work independently, without always needing to call me or my aide over to help. They want to feel just like any other young person and are eager to show the world that they can accomplish great things.

My Project

I am asking for a listening center for my classroom. This will allow students to use headphones to hear the textbook being read aloud while they follow along. Not only will this allow them to more easily learn material by engaging with it in both written and spoken forms, but it will also give my students a chance to work independently at their own pace.

Donors to this project will help provide a piece of technology that will greatly enhance my students' learning and give them a chance to show that their strengths can always overcome their challenges.
