My students need headphones with mics to listen and read books in computer lab. We use the headphones every day for learning websites and programs. The ones we have now are taped together and missing pads.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My classroom is the Computer Lab where I help kids learn technology, learn math facts, learn how to read, and learn about the world. I see all 475 students twice a week for a total of 90mins per student. Once during specials and on every Friday we have "S T E A M" with each grade level. "S T E A M" is where we teach hands on learning about Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math.
Our students live in a rural area where 60% of our students are on free or reduce lunches.
We also have a program here that is call Backpack of love that provides students bags of food to eat over the weekend and for holidays. No matter how home life is our students come to school excited to explore new things.
My Project
We need new headphones with microphones. Students can concentrate on learning instead saying "I can't hear, these headphones hurt my ears, and I can't find any head phones". We have 32 old computer desktops and only a few headphones that still work fine.
The new headphones will need to have a mic so the students can record themselves reading with our new programs.
This will help them hear how they pronounce words, learn how to present a speech, and to collaborate ideas. Some of our kids don't have computers at home and school is the only place they can explore on the web. Seeing their eyes light up when they watch a video or read a book puts a huge smile on everyone's face.
